They repeat the calculation and compare. A match means the record is unchanged and already existed by that point. Any change breaks the match, and the comparison does not run through our systems.
Once written and confirmed, the commitment cannot be altered or removed by anyone, Golden Egg included.
The record itself is not made immutable. It stays in your systems, yours to hold.
Any change to it becomes detectable, and stays detectable for as long as anyone cares to look. Nothing has to be renewed to keep that true.
